2012 BMW 650i Coupe Review and gallery Picture
Decades later, the names have disappeared. A rare survivor, BMW 6-series coupe, somehow persists against all odds and has been redesigned for 2012.
Two-door luxury is almost dead. Decades ago, the big coupes like the Cadillac Eldorado, Oldsmobile Toronado, Buick Riviera, and Lincoln Mark series ruled as symbols of man's success and the door, the most important man.
The last of the series 6 is a throwback to the days in the new mean longer, lower and wider. The overall length is up to 2.6 inches, 1.6 inches width increases, and the roof is 0.2 inches lower. From the trick LED lights ($ 2,900) for the rear lights, this is a more elegant and cohesive series 6. We are comparing it with the packages and semi-insane looking, next-generation 6-series, it certainly helps if this new car. The proportions are classic coupé long hood, roof bow, short trunk. The body is in a battle exceptionally long (112. 4 inches), which is closer to the Mercedes CL yacht the size of the class which is the bowrider-and E-Class Coupé. And that results in long wheelbase large swinging doors. Real men swing of things.
Spend $ 1500 (at the top of the cost of nearly $ 84,000 base car), and BMW is covering almost all interior surfaces of leather. Taking into account what part of the cost of other options, the skin looks like a bargain. Opt for the Premium Sound ($ 1,800), and you have the option to spend an additional $ 3700 for the upgrade of Bang & Olufsen. The B & O system is crisp and strong, but not most of these buyers to listen to AM news radio? At least 10.2-inch wide screen that displays information for navigation and audio is standard. The seat bottoms are a little closer to the floor you want, but the seats themselves are comfortable and not look out of place in a Bentley coupe. Adults can fit in the back, but not the front passengers move their seats to the dashboard.
Mechanical machismo is provided by BMW400-hp, twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8. An eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual is available free of charge. BMW claims a 0 to 60 time of 4.9 seconds for transmission, which seems a bit conservative for the machine of 4,250 kilos. The 650i convertible 4569 pounds [see here] did the deed in 4.7 seconds. Manual changes are short and precise, making it one of the best BMW clubs we sampled. However, the rapid eight-speed automatic transmission seems more in line with the confidence of effort coupe. It provides manual control via paddle or shift lever, if the driver feel like participating in mischief.
