Suzuki motorbikes began to show their strength in MotoGP races. Through the Suzuki Ecstar rider, Alex Rins managed to stand on the podium in the last two races. Rins himself claimed to be confident in facing the 2019 season. He felt his motorbike could compete with Ducati, Honda, and Yamaha which had been fighting for champions.

Rins starts the race from the 9th start position, Rins quickly improved his position up to 6 in the initial round. Rins is able to slowly enter the front row. But thanks to the speed set strategy, hard work and calm in the pressure of other opponents, Alex Rins was able to maintain his speed and position to close the road in the second position from the front.

The acquisition of the Podium 2 added points for Alex Rins, thus placing his position as the 2nd best in the 2019 MotoGP standings with a total of 69 points, 1 point adrift of the leaders.

"It is very difficult to be able to get second place at Jerez. Starting the race from behind I had difficulty being able to race Ducati with acceleration fast," explained Rins reported by GPOne, Monday (05/06/2019).

"During the winter we already know that the motorbike is quite strong and ready to win. There are still many races until the end of the season, not easy indeed but I will try to give my best," continued Rins.

In addition to the motorbike which is in good performance, Rins also mentions the racing style matches the Suzuki GSX-RR. Plus tires are also an important factor so they can provide good performance on the motorbike.

"Maybe my racing style resembled that of riders in the 1980s and 1990s. It became one of my characters, arguably Unicorn racing," said Rins.

"This is more difficult than usual because we decided to use a soft front tire. In fact, in the last five laps I was even closer, especially when braking," said Rins.

"It's amazing to get a victory and then occupy 2nd place. I feel very happy, this race is very difficult and starting from the third row makes it more difficult. I give 100% and I know that my race speed is close to Marc, so I plan to try and get a good start and go ahead. Spanish fans are amazing today, with fans giving me encouragement for each round. I want to maintain this consistency and I hope for great results again at Le Mans, "Rins said in a statement sent to the media.
